Happy 1st Birthday Eden!

Eden turned one year old on January 22, and I must admit I shed a few tears the night before.  I just can't believe our baby is a year old already.  We had a Dr. Seuss themed party for her and it turned out great!  We bought a small bounce house for the kids to play on, and we had a few Dr. Seuss themed games.  My mom made a "Gack" so the kids could play ring the Gack, and there was a fishing game with "one fish two fish".  Everything was perfect!  Happy First Birthday Eden!

Dad and the birthday Girl!

Eden is trying to figure out why everyone is singing to her.   (Don't judge the homemade "cat in the hat" cake...and yes it's supposed to be lopsided)

"yummy...frosting"

"hooray!....I can use my hands"

Enjoying her party with Papa and Grandma.
While Eden had her own cake, the rest of us had "cat in the hat" cupcakes.
Eden finally got to enjoy her bounce house at the end of the day.

Eden's guests signed and wrote a special note in her Dr. Seuss birthday book.

Happy 4th Birthday Isla!

Here is a little update on the kids.  We bought Isla an early birthday present...a wetsuit.  She promised to go into the ocean and sit on a surfboard if she had one.  (of course we believed her).  So, we all went to the beach one late afternoon and Ryan gave her a quick surf lesson on the sand.  They started for the water and she immediately changed her mind.  She did get in the water, but she avoided the waves.  Oh well, maybe someday Ryan will get her in the waves again.
Isla had a wonderful 4th birthday!  After school we took her to Disneyland and then ate at her favorite restaurant, the Rainforest Cafe.  The following weekend, she had a small princess tea party with a few friends.  Happy Birthday Isla!

Welcome Baby Eden!

Okay everyone...sorry for such the delay in posting Eden to our blog.  It has been pretty busy for us and learning how to juggle two kids.  The flu hit our house two days after Eden was born so Eden and I moved into a hotel for a week, and we also went to visit Ryan's parents so they could meet Eden. Not to mention my computer has been broken and since Ryan fixed it for Mother's Day I am able to post this tonight.  Oh yeah and we also moved back to Huntington Beach a week ago.  So here ya go...meet Eden...she's such a blessing to our little family!

Isla's Halloween...and More

Isla had a great Halloween!  Notice Ryan and I are the same, Captain Hook and Smee...but this time we are complete by Isla being the Tick Tock Crocodile!!!!  We went to her school for a trunk or treat, and also walked the neighborhood for a little while.  The week before Halloween her school had a fall festival day for the kids.  It was during school hours and the playground was transformed into a western festival.  There were pumpkins for the kids, wagon rides, scarecrow dress up, play horses to ride, fake cows to milk, and lots more.  Her school is great...we are truly blessed to have her there.  She also just finished a four week horse riding class where she learned to brush and saddle a horse and also learned how to ride it using the reins and commands.

Our "Lil Tick Tock Croc"!

Captain Hook and the Tick Tock Croc are friends tonight.

Me and my crocodile.
Taking her wagon ride @ her school fall festival.

Riding a horse with her friend Addison.

I got to come help out and watch them all have fun.
Her first day @ horse class.

She was able to feed other animals after her class, she liked the cow.

About four weeks ago, Pastor Chuck Smith of Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa passed away.  Our church organized a paddle out ceremony at the HB pier a couple weeks ago and we went.  Ryan is out there somewhere and Isla and I are on the pier watching and listening to our Pastor speak.  (There are about 1/3 of the people missing from my picture angle.)  It was a great turn out to pay respect and celebrate Pastor Chuck's life and the work he did to spread the gospel.
