Turkey Day/Week

Ok...So, I know this is late and kind of a random post.  The weekend before Thanksgiving was my company Christmas party ( I know very early) and the first couple of photos are from that.  For Thanksgiving, Ryan's parents came to visit, and so did my sister, Jaime, and her family.  So here you go, a random post.
Isla and I all dressed up!

Isla's Halloween...as a Lady Bug!

Here are some photos of Isla dressed up on Halloween as a lady bug.  We took her to a few houses across the street, she only had the stamina for four houses or so.  After that we went down to main street, which they close down for families, walked around and had dinner.  I think Isla had a great Halloween!  The first couple photos are of Isla carving her first pumpkin, she liked the gooey guts.

Isla all ready for trick or treating

She is getting the hang of this...she still needs help walking long distances though.

Isla Visits the Pumpkin Patch!

We took Isla a few nights ago to the pumpkin patch by our house.  It was a really cool one...they had blow up slides, trains to ride, pony rides, and a petting zoo.  She had tons of fun.

Isla's not sure about this goat

A donkey doesn't convince her either.

Isla picks out the big one!

She's getting sleepy

Not too sleepy for a train ride.

Now at home, Isla shows us her pumpkin.

Isla's One Year Pictures

We finally took Isla for her one year pictures...so here they are.  It was also a fall photo session too.

Ok, so I had to show everyone this picture.  Not that I support gangs, but...you will notice that Isla supports the "west side" gang  (she's throwing a gang sign)

Isla was playing peek-a-boo during the photos

Isla Turns 1!!!!...Her First Birthday

We had Isla's first birthday party on Saturday the first at a local park.  It was perfect weather and everyone had a great time, and I know Isla did too.  Thanks to everyone who was able to make it and for those who wanted to and couldn't, here are some photos of her BIG day.

Isla trying to figure out why everyone is here...

Isla enjoying her animal cracker with Grandma

Lunch time

You will notice that not only Isla dressed up in animal attire...so did Ryan but as a safari guide...he couldn't resist

We were able to rent this pavilion for the day, turned out perfect

Thirsty, Isla?

Her 1st Birthday Cake

Isla discovers cake

She dug right in, first taste of frosting and an instant love

Not only her zebra shirt, but notice the giraffe print leg warmers, I couldn't resist

I think she loves frosting, it was fun to clean her up!

We hired a guy to make balloon animals for the party, and he made Isla a birthday cake, she just chewed on it (he was amazing)

More chewing of the balloon

Happy First Birthday Isla, We Love You!

Isla's in Maui!

So we arrived in Maui last Sunday and we are still here enjoying ourselves. I thought I would post some pictures from the last few days. So far we have had a great and relaxing vacation. We have been playing in the pool with Isla and also taking her in the nice warm ocean...so much nicer than home. Anyways, it's been great spending so much time all together and going on our first family vacation!

MONDAY
Our first full day here, a family photo by the koi pond where we're staying

We went into Lahaina the first night to walk around, and we walked under the Banyan tree.  It was amazing...it's one tree with large branches and roots that stretch over a 200 foot area, pretty amazing to see

In Lahaina we also went into the old courthouse which still had a jail, which we of course couldn't resist putting Isla in.

Isla can give a kiss when you ask her and now when you ask her where my nose is, she will touch noses with you, it's pretty dang cute
 TUESDAY
Isla and I in the ocean, it's nice and calm and especially warm.

Isla crawling around our place exploring every space she can get into
 WEDNESDAY
Isla yesterday morning sitting on the balcony enjoying the weather.

Giving Da-Da a kiss

Ryan went stand-up paddle boarding yesterday in front of our place

So funny...ok so this man was swimming pretty far out and he got scared and Ryan had to go and rescue him.  You will notice that this man is wearing an awesome speedo!...Only Ryan

Isla having a snack by the pool

Isla and I were enjoying ourselves last night sitting by the pool while Ryan went our surfing for a little bit.
 THURSDAY
Today, we all drove north to explore the island and wow...very curvy roads, we all got a little car sick. (I guess the road to Hana is out of the question)  We stopped on the side of the road to get some air and enjoy the scenery, it was so beautiful!

Isla and I taking in some fresh air.

After our long windy road trip we stopped for lunch

After lunch we headed to the Maui Ocean Center (aka-the aquarium).  Isla loved seeing all the fish, she tried to grab them through the glass.

Isla sitting in front of the large open ocean exhibit.  They actually had a gigantic hammerhead shark and a baby tiger shark, that was really cool.
