A couple weeks ago our family traveled to Virginia with my parents to visit our sisters, and check out D.C. We also were able to meet up with my Aunt Becky for an afternoon who lives in New Jersey. We first stayed with my sister Kelly and her family for a day, then we stayed with Ryan's sister Shannon for a couple days. Shannon and her family took us into D.C. for the day and showed us all the sites. It was amazing since Ryan and I had never been to D.C. We saw the Washington Monument which was covered in scaffolding since the earthquake a couple years ago. We also saw the WWII memorial, which was way more amazing than we had imagined. We also walked through the Vietnam Memorial and glanced at the White House and the Capitol building. We also went to the Lincoln Memorial which is gigantic! It was amazing to see the reflecting pool and at the end was the Monument. At the end of this busy day we went into the Natural History Museum so Ryan could see some dinosaurs, and a few other exhibits. Isla was fast asleep, so she missed the museum. Isla had a fun time playing with her cousins! We then went back to Kelly's house and Isla was able to continue playing with her other cousin Audrey. Isla and Audrey had a blast! On Sunday, we all drove to Pennsylvania to meet my Aunt Becky (my Dad's sister) which was half way for both of us. The town we met up in was having a town festival. It was a nice time with Aunt Becky! Oh yeah...and the weekend before we went to Virginia we also went whale watching and for the first time we actually saw whales!
